Question: I have epilepsy (fits and seizures), from last 4 years, and I am taking medicines since last 4 years. Can you please let me know when I will recover myself? Also tell me if there is any alternative epilepsy treatment?
What is Epilepsy?
Epilepsy refers to a chronic condition in which repeated fits, with or without loss of consciousness occurs. Attacks rates show a decline in frequency with age.
There are 2 types of the disorder – grand mal and petit mal.
In the grand mal, has violent contractions of the limbs, accompanied by loss of consciousness.
Petit mal is less dramatic. There might be twitching of muscles, rigidity, momentary loss of consciousness. He will stop what he is doing and then resume his work once the phase passes.

Include the following foods in the diet for epilepsy patients
- Grapes: Grapes are particularly effective in the management and control of epileptic attacks. A consumption of 500 to 700 grams of the fruit or 500 ml juice shows significant benefits. It should be taken for a period of 3 months regularly. Frequency and intensity of attacks greatly diminish.
- Fresh vegetable juices: A combination of carrot juice, beet root juice and cucumber juice helps treat epilepsy. These vegetables provide trace vitamins and minerals which are highly effective in combating epilepsy.
- Holy basil: Chew 5 basil leaves daily. It has a beneficial effect on epileptics. Also, in case of an attack of epilepsy, if the patient falls unconscious, an inhalation of the juice of basil leaves helps him come around quickly.
- Vitamin B6: Vitamin B6 is responsible for the optimal functioning of the central nervous system. A therapeutic dose of 100 to 150 mg daily staves off an attack. Rich food sources are – whole cereals, milk, pulses, green leafy vegetables, and brewer’s yeast.

I am suffering from epilepsy (fits/seizures ) since the last 10 years. This condition occurs mostly during sleep and I don’t get any hint before the seizure attack. Yesterday, I was on the road when this happened. During the attack I become unconscious, white saliva comes out of mouth, the tongue comes between the teeth.
And after epilepsy seizure, when I regain consciousness I feel a very weak, and my muscles feel stretched and pulled.
I want to talk to you about this epilepsy, apparently by what I red, someone in my family have the same thing that you have, I want to know how you are treating it, and anything else that can help me.
From last 10 years I am suffering from unconscious moving at that time my motion is perfect but that time my mind is blank after I returns I get that message from others. this thing is started when my nose is operated to remove unwanted muscle that time doctors given a dose of anesthesia, but my conscious is as it is. Then they given a injection to my nose part to made operation that time i feel every instance of operation. I think this thing (anesthesia) will had effect on me now also I am taking cbz200 tablet but monthly once or twice I had bite inside of my mouth this thing is happening from last 5years. What u think about it?
You can simultaneously start homeopathic medicine. For that you have to search a good homeopath nearby your place.
Take your medicines as prescribed by your doctor regularly, do not stop your medication suddenly without seeking the advice of your doctor.
Normally the effect of anesthesia may not last so long.
Increase eating calcium products such as milk, drumstick and green leafy vegetables. Eat nuts and beans; the magnesium level in them is high. Magnesium is important element involved in proper brain function.
Grapes and almonds are also effective in treating certain brain conditions.
The two main types of epilepsy are 1.generalised (you can have primary or secondary generalization) – which include tonic-clonic (old name grand mal), atonic, absence (old name petit mal) and myoclonic
2. Partial (old name focal) – which includes, simple partial, complex partial, simple partial with generalization.
If you want more details on any of these just Google them. But stating that petit mal and grand mal are the two different types is incorrect. Petit mal is one of the sub types of grand mal (generalized). I have had epilepsy for 30 years. Primary generalized with myoclonic. I have the tonic clonic seizures in my sleep only ~ (nocturnal seizures) so I can drive by law (I am in Ireland), and lead an independent life.
