Alcoholism is an addiction to alcohol where a person is unable to prevent himself from frequent and excessive consumption for physical and psychological reasons, and is a chronic disorder.
Symptoms of Alcoholism
- Alcoholics have a rapid pulse, hoarse voice, bloodshot eyes and a puffy face.
- Alcoholics are overemotional, irritated and suspicious.
- The chronic alcoholic prefers drinks to food.

Alcoholism Causes
- Alcoholism may sneak a person rapidly or may take years together.A weak-minded person tries to escape a situation by consoling himself with alcohol.
- To overcome anxiety, induce sleep, to enliven social life and de-stress an alcoholic uses maladaptive ways.
Alcoholism Treatment and Cures
- Abstain from alcohol, immediately after making a resolve.
- A juice fast for at least 10 days, with orange/vegetable juices from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. after every 2 hours.
- Dilute juice with warm water.
- Clean bowels regularly with warm water enema.
- Switch to a diet comprising of fresh fruits and vegetables, cereals, nuts, whole grains, seeds and sprouts after 10 days
- Usestimulant fresh fruit juice sweetened with honey/ or candies to relieve craving for alcohol.
- Eat several small meals a day and abstain from smoking.
- Apple and raw celery juice are particularly beneficial.
- Plenty of rest and outdoor exercise like yoga, walking are also necessary for a backup.
- Generous water consumption and hot fomentation on the stomach and abdomen with a wet pack between applications are effective water treatments.

Hi, I want to ask you about my father, my father is so much addicted of wine he is drinking wine all the time, when he wake up in the morning he goes to wine shop early in the morning, without eating anything, he drinks nonstop. Please tell me how to get him out of it?
As he is a chronic alcoholic, your father needs a psychological support to abstain alcohol. Counseling, referral to self help groups like alcoholic anonymous; he may need a few days of hospitalization for treatment for alcohol withdrawal symptoms. Drug therapy suggested by doctor for treating alcohol dependence. A combination of approach is needed to treat him.
