This visualization therapy method is a process used by many world religions. It involves focusing the mind to a specific thought, increasing awareness or emptying the mind of any thoughts in order to remove stress and promote relaxation.

This simple visualization therapy method is done by listening to tapes that promote a peaceful feeling and closing the eyes until the individual enters into a state when he’s ready to visualize whatever positive images he or she wants. The images can be an ideal action or reaction, an ideal outcome of a situation, plain peaceful images, or images of good health.
Guided Visualization
This visualization therapy process involves the imagining of certain imagery in order for the individual to cope with stress or stimulate the self-healing mechanisms of the body. It is not known how visualization works, but research using scanner demonstrates that visualization exercises stimulate the cortex. From the cortex signals are sent to other body parts responsible for different processes among them the self-healing mechanisms.
Although visualization therapy is an easy process, people need to know that sometimes unguided visualization can be dangerous since imagining may lead to unwanted imageries that may aggravate conditions. For example, some images may promote more depression.
