Sunburned Lips Remedies:
Sunburned lips are usually associated with chapped lips. The lips are so thin that you can see the blood vessels through it, which is why they are commonly red. Because of its thin coat of skin, this makes it highly susceptible for any circumstances of sunburn and chapped lips.
Symptoms of Sunburned Lips:
- Dryness of the lips
- Flaky and chap lips
- Lips would start to lose its color from pinkish red to lighter pink and white.
- It can be painful at times and it will feel quite sore.
- There is swelling in the lips as well.

- Drinking plenty of fluids
- Using lip gloss that is designed to keep the lips hydrated. It usually has the same components and properties as a sun block lotion.
- Eating popsicles would also help relieve and at the same time prevent sunburned lips from occurring.
Preventing Sunburned Lips:
The best way to handle and to ensure that getting sunburned lips does happen again is to do the following tips:
- You need to hydrate all the time especially when exposed under the prickling heat of the sun. Hydration is the key. Drinking plenty of fluids a day can help.
- Before you go outside under the heat of the sun, use sun block lotion, a cap, a parasol or an umbrella, or a wide brim hat and try to protect your lips by using lip gloss that has the same effect as a sun block.
- Once in a while, please take the time to find a shade and cool yourself down.
- Avoid peeling the chaps and flakes on the lips that usually result after getting sunburned lips. This would only aggravate the condition and it would leave an opening for bacteria and microorganisms to enter and make your lips susceptible to infections and other complications.
- When you have sun burned lips, you should avoid smoking. It will only aggravate and cause more damage.
