Zyoptix Laser Eye Treatment
Zyoptix is a personalized eye treatment that improves on what LASIK does. It was developed by Bausch and Lomb.
- This type of surgery allows doctors to plan a personalized treatment
- It involves scanning the eye to determine what areas need improvement
- Patients who were not considered suitable for LASIK may be eligible for Zyoptix treatment
- It makes use of wavefront technology
- It uses two machines: Orbscan and a Zywave Aberrometer
- A scan of the cornea is taken using Orbscan
- Surgeons analyze the scan to determine what areas to address
- The Zywave Aberrometer Machine is used to determine how the eyes respond to light
- A plan of treatment is created prior to surgery
- Patient is brought to the operating room
- An incision is made to pull back part of the cornea
- Big and small lasers are used to make the corrections based on the personal plan made from the eye scans
- Flap is sewn back
Patients may be prescribed antibacterial drops to prevent infection post surgery.
Zyoptix Laser Eye Surgery Side Effects
There are minimal side effects of Zyoptix laser eye procedure. It is quickly finished and have virtually no pain. Reported side effects include:
- Blurry vision – common side effects and would usually go away in the first few days after surgery.
- Eye Pain
- Headache
Patients experiencing these side effects should go back to their doctor for a checkup.

But is there something called ADVANCE LASIK, which is better than both?
I went for a Laser surgery basic test yesterday. The Doctor told me that my eyes are not suitable for Zyoptix because of less cornea (not sure) thickness.
So I have to undergo LASIK surgery, which is both costly and safer and even better than Zyoptix.
While Zyopti costs about $600 in my country, Advanced LASIK costs close to $1000.
I never thought LASIK is better and costly than Zyoptix !
Just consulted the hospital. They said its PI Lasik Asperic surgery.
