How Does Laser Pigment Removal Work?
- The dark spots on the skin are made up of melanin, which is what gives the skin its color.
- The hyperpigmentation absorbs light and heat
- When laser is shone on the area with pigments, the pigments absorb the head and the light.
- This causes destruction for the spots
- Peeling and fading of the spots is going to follow the laser treatment
- It may take several treatments before spots are fully removed.
Is Laser Pigmentation Treatment Painful?

- Itching/Pain/Mild Burning
- Crusting and Flaking of the Skin
- Bruising
In rare instances, a patient can also suffer from the more severe complications of the procedure.
- Burns
- Scarring
- Skin Discoloration – the affected skin can appear darker after treatment or it could develop light spots.
