How to Relieve from Mid Life Crisis:

A recent study published in the Journal of Organizational Behavior and Human decision processes, reflected that a male’s desire to own fast car is related to the male hormone- Testosterone.  Another similar study indicated that driving fast cars help men get over their mid life crisis. Mid life crisis is just the male body and mind going through a natural transition phase. The mid life crisis stage attributed to the psychological realization of their mortality and the belief that their time to enjoy life is running out.

On the other hand, hormonal changes attribute to symptoms include loss of sex drive, fatigue, impotency, irritability, hair loss, slow injury recovery time, weight gain and depression. This makes them more prone to seek happiness imitations like younger girls, fast cars and wrong career moves. As per the researchers, since the fast car is a “status symbol”, it tends to increase the level of testosterone. However this impact on the libido of the male is for a short duration of time and limited.

Researchers at Concordia University studied the behavior of 39 males, who were asked to ride a brand new Porsche and then drive a 16 year old Toyota Camry. After the drive the saliva of all males was tested to review the level of testosterone. The finding suggested that driving a fast brand new car clearly shot up the testosterone level of the males, irrespective of whether or not they were being looked at (by women).

Mid life crisis in men is associated with a fall in the level of the testosterone hormone readings.
