- A study was conducted on 60 people who were suffering from type 2 diabetes mellitus. The subjects were given 1 to 6 grams of powdered cinnamon everyday for a period of 40 days.The results showed that the fasting blood sugar level in these participants, reduced from 18-29 %. Whereas those were not taking cinnamon powder did not show such a decline in a period of 40 days. Cinnamon, taken on a daily basis helps to achieve normal blood glucose levels, and prevents a host of complications from occurring.
- Cinnamon is also known to bring down blood cholesterol considerably. A reduction from 12-26 % of total cholesterol was seen in a clinical trial.
