How to Delay Ageing Process with Pomegranate | Yoga for Ageing Skin Care
Delay Ageing Skin:
Laboratory investigations demonstrate that pomegranates are chockfull of vitamin C, cyanins, lycopene, and ellagic acid. Ellagic acid augments the body’s built-in supply of glutathione. Glutathione is an anti-oxidant which shields the DNA from harm and also helps reprocess estrogen, which protects skin cells. In addition, the anti-oxidant inhibits certain enzymes in ways that give cells time to divide normally.

- Ellagic acid is related to compounds known as flavanoids.It is a potent and powerful anti-oxidant.

Yoga asanas to Delay Ageing Processes:
Virbhadrasana (the warrior pose)
This asana makes a firm and strong connection with the prana and the earth.
It works powerfully on the spine, making it supple, the thighs, and the arms.
Technique:
- Stand with your feet about 3 feet apart.Turn the right foot to the right.
- Bend the right knee, so that the thigh is parallel to the earth.
- Keeping the back straight, raise the arms upwards, above the head, bringing the palms. together ina prayer gesture.
- Hold the pose.
- Repeat for the other side.
Trikonasana (the triangle pose):
- This asana, like virbhadrasana makes a strong connection with the earth and its energies.
- This asana gives a beautiful lateral stretch, enhancing the flexibility of the entire body.
Technique:
- Stand with the feet wider than the shoulders.
- Raise both the arms to the sides.
- Turn your left foot out. Bend to the left, and grasp the ankle firmly with the left hand.
- The neck should be relaxed, with the head falling sideways.
- The right arm should be stretched over the head, parallel to the earth.
- Hold the pose.
- Repeat for the other side.
Ustrasana (the camel pose):
The ustraasna, is an intense stretch, which works on the spine, abdominal muscles, abdominal organs,and the shoulder joints. Gradual and sustained practice is essential to master this yoga asana.
Technique:
- Kneel on to the floor, with the buttocks raised off the feet.
- Gently, and slowly lean backwards. (Avoid jerking or bouncing.) place your right hand on to the right heel and the left hand on to the left heel.
- Arch the body backwards.
- Take the head back, and relax in to the position.
- Hold the pose, till as long as you are comfortable.
