Fortunately, having a kinked neck is not a serious health condition, and there are several home treatments you can apply to get rid of the pain and discomfort.
- Get a towel and soak it on a basin with hot water. Place the towel on your neck and apply some pressure. The heat will allow good blood circulation and eventual relief from pain.
- Hot bath. Take hot bath promotes blood flow and releases tension and muscle aches.
- Apply heating pad on the affected area
- Fill a bottle with hot water and let it stay on your neck for at least half an hour or while the water remains hot.
- Do some slow neck exercises to stimulate blood circulation and to bring back your normal neck movement
- Apply some eucalyptus oil on your neck
- You can also apply mentholated balm and cover it with scarf or towel to trap in the heat.
- Put some cloves of poultice on your neck to treat your kinked neck. This can also be a remedy for muscle cramps, sprains and spasms.
- Walk to the nearest grocery for your daily needs or you can take a walk at the park to relieve muscle tension and stress.
- Take food or spices with natural painkillers such as ginger or make a ginger juice.
- Get a neck brace or neck support to steady your neck to prevent jerks and sudden movements
- Apply pressure and gently massage your neck to bring back your normal blood flow.
