- Take a glass of warm water mixed with castor oil 10 to 15 ml at least twice a day.
- Prepare a paste of turmeric powder and clarified butter and apply it on the infected area to speed up the healing process of your infected lip. Turmeric powder is a natural antiseptic and antibiotic and is capable of killing microorganisms that cause infection to these sensitive lips easily.
- A glass of warm milk added with half a teaspoon of turmeric powder should be taken every night.
- You can also mix pepper powder with leaves of stone apple and take half teaspoon of the mixture 2 to 3 times a day.
- Mix half teaspoon of lotus flower paste into a glass of milk twice a day for 15 days.
- Apply tea tree oil on infected area as frequent as you can and also after every bath. You can also drink a glass of water with two drops of tea tree oil to kill the fungi.
Lip Infection Prevention
To avoid getting your lip infected, apply lip balm with sunscreen protection going out and also to moisture your lips. Diet is important in treating and preventing lip infection so eat nutritious fruits and vegetables that are high in iron and vitamin B12. Green, raw and leafy vegetables, meat especially kidney and liver are good sources of iron. Avoid alcohol consumption and other beverages containing caffeine including cigarettes and processed foods.
