- The first thing to do to remove fiberglass from the skin is by taking a cold shower for at least two minutes and having a hot shower for another two minutes. - Using Epsom salts is also one effective way to get rid of the fiberglass in your skin. To do this, mix one cup of Epsom salt into a small volume of boiling water allowing the salt to dissolve. You will have to soak your body or the affected area with the Epsom salt bath you prepared for about thirty minutes. After this, rinse thoroughly in cool water.
- In some mild cases, you can also use nylon stockings. You will have to get a warm bath first and when the pores open, you can rub the nylon stockings to scrape the fiberglass out of your skin.
- Duct tape has also been found to effectively remove fiberglass in the skin. However, in using duck tape to remove fiberglass, you will have to take caution as pressing the tape too hard can further embed the fiberglass into your skin. Gently place the duct tape into the affected area of your skin and press down to quickly remove the fibers off your skin. Since duct tapes are very durable adhesives, be aware that your hair might be pulled out when using duct tapes.
