Prednisone is a part of corticosteroids group, or steroids as it is commonly known.

- Viral conjunctivitis, dry eye, is a side effect of prednisone if taken for prolonged period.
- In long term therapy women are more vulnerable for built up of adrenal hormone causing weight gain, moon face, fragile skin, muscle weakness, brittle bones and purplish appearance of skin.
- Fracture of bones, distended abdomen, bulging eyes, diabetes are other side effects of prednisone.
- Long term treatment often gives rise to opportunistic fungal infection.

I am 21 years girl, my plates become fluctuate always(1 month ago plates was 39000 and after that it was 162000 because of pomegranate I think so ) if I stopped prednisolone, I am taking prednisolone more than six (06 ) years, is it risk for me but doctors recommend me to take prednisolone but time to time they checked for osteoporosis and many other disease ,one week ago I stopped prednisolone after read this side effects, now I plan to treat in natural way please help me for that .
