Large Pimple in Ear Canal
Pimple in ear canal is quite common in adults as well as children. It is also known as a boil or a furuncle. The condition is painful; patient may feel the heat in the ear, for few days before the pimple gets filled with pus and gets drained.
Causes Of Pimple In Ear Canal
- Due to scratching in the ear with fingers and finger nails.
- There may be tearing in the skin of the auditory canal. Bacteria may invade the torn region causing a boil or a pimple.
- Staphylococcus bacteria are the causative organism for the boil or the pimple.
- Pain and pus filled boil may occur as a next step. The surrounding area becomes red.
- Ear wax
Treatment for Pimple In Ear Canal
- Put 2 to 3 ear drops prepared from garlic oil. Garlic is an antibacterial remedy and will help to reduce the inflammation and pain caused due to pimple in ear canal.
- Garlic oil can be prepared by taking olive oil 2 tsp, heat the oil and put crushed garlic in the oil.Let the oil get cool. Now the ear oil is ready to be used.
- External warm sponging on the ear. This will help to relieve pain and help the boil to get suppurated earlier and get drained.
- If the pimple is large with excruciating pain, and blocking the ear canal, consult your ENT surgeon. He may incise and drain the pimple to get relief.
- Clean the wax from your ear every fortnight, as wax is one of the reason for pimples in the ear.
