Question: I have upper stomach pain and numbness almost all the times. Recently it got severe after taking pain medicines (oral surgery). Kindly suggest some treatment of stomach pain generally after eating.
The stomach is an essential part of the gastro-intestinal system where most of the digestion of the food. The stomach secretes gastric enzymes that break down the food constituents into simpler components whilst the stomach muscles grind the food. Stomach also retains the food for some time before it can be passed into the intestinal tract for assimilation and absorption.
Gastritis is an inflammatory condition of the stomach, which affects the internal lining of the stomach. The physical symptoms include sensation of bloating accompanied with diarrhea or constipation, heart burns, belching, sharp and cutting pain in the stomach, etc.
Gastritis Causes and Treatments:
There are several causes of gastritis namely smoking, alcoholism, food poisoning, etc. However, excessive consumption of pain killers is also known to disturb the acidity levels in the stomach and affect the gastric mucosa. Popping vitamin and calcium supplement pills is also known to affect the gastric mucosa. In your case this specifically appears to be the cause of problem in the stomach.
- Always take pain killers along with antacids to reduce the acidity and impact on the gastric mucosa.
- Don’t take painkillers or supplements on empty stomach. These should be consumed only after a light meal
- Drink a glass of cold milk when you feel stomach distress
- Never skip meals, stick to your schedule for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Don’t eat late at night.
- Avoid taking tea, coffee, mint, etc which is known to disturb the gastric juice secretion cycle of the stomach
- NEVER GO HUNGRY.

hi everybody, I am 24 but I feel like my life is hell coz I am always experiencing stomach pain almost every single day. I can rate it 7/10 and when it gets worst 9/10. What scare me the most is the fact that it even affect my genital part. My penis and testicles feel like some kind of burning inside. I have taken severe stomach painkillers like paracetamol, ibuprofen, co-codamol etc but it’s just helping much. I am so desperate to work it out. I would be so grateful to receive advice from you,

First of all let me tell you that there are many causes for abdominal pain. Since how long you are suffering from abdominal pain? Do you suffer from any other concomitant symptoms like vomiting or fever or constipation? You need to be examined by a physician in detail. He may advise you for blood, stool, and urine examination. Other investigations necessary may be sonogram of abdomen. It is harmful to take medicine without a doctor’s prescription.
