Stomach Ache Remedy | Stomach Pain Treatment | Gastritis Home Remedies
Question: I have upper stomach pain and numbness almost all the times. Recently it got severe after taking pain medicines (oral surgery).
The stomach is an essential part of the gastro-intestinal system where most of the digestion of the food. The stomach secretes gastric enzymes that break down the food constituents into simpler components whilst the stomach muscles grind the food.
Gastritis is an inflammatory condition of the stomach, which affects the internal lining of the stomach. The physical symptoms include sensation of bloating accompanied with diarrhea or constipation, heart burns, belching, sharp and cutting pain in the stomach, etc.
Gastritis Causes and Treatments:
There are several causes of gastritis namely smoking, alcoholism, food poisoning, etc. However, excessive consumption of pain killers is also known to disturb the acidity levels in the stomach and affect the gastric mucosa. Popping vitamin and calcium supplement pills is also known to affect the gastric mucosa. In your case this specifically appears to be the cause of problem in the stomach. Some basic measure that are very essential when you consume painkillers include,
- Always take pain killers along with antacids to reduce the acidity and impact on the gastric mucosa.
- Don’t take painkillers or supplements on empty stomach. These should be consumed only after a light meal
- Drink a glass of cold milk when you feel stomach distress
- Never skip meals, stick to your schedule for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Don’t eat late at night.
- Avoid taking tea, coffee, mint, etc which is known to disturb the gastric juice secretion cycle of the stomach
- NEVER GO HUNGRY.
