Pancreatic Cancer Treatments | Diet, Cure for Pancreas Cancer

Question: I’m suffering with pancreas cancer and experiencing excess bloatness and gas. Please advise on causes and treatments.

Causes, Symptoms of Pancreatic Cancer:

Carcinoma/ cancer of pancreas has no definite causative factors.

It is attributed to:

• Smoking
• Too much consumption of red meat
• Exposure to certain chemical products

A diet rich in fruits and vegetables are good for treating carcinoma, owing to their high fiber and vitamin C content.

Are there any other symptoms apart from bloating and gaseous distension?
Backache? Abdominal pain? Weight loss?

What are your medications? Has there been any surgery carried out? When were you diagnosed with the cancer? Has there been chemotherapy/radiotherapy?

Exactly what part of the pancreas is affected? Head/ body/ tail?

Diet for Pancreas Cancer:

• Your food should be such, that it does not put any strain on the organs of digestion.
  A soft diet is recommended. Avoid tough and hard foods. Remember to chew the food properly. This reduces the burden on the stomach.
• Gruels, porridges, clear soups (avoid cream), salads, fruits and vegetable juices are ideal, since they are easy to digest.
• All animal fats should be strictly avoided – egg, red meat, chicken, and organ meat. Stay away from processed food cans and packets. Refined food in any form must’nt be consumed.
• Avoid food with too much spices and condiments, and fat.
• Ensure that you consume a generous helping of fresh fruits and vegetables every day. They are loaded with anti-oxidants.
• Never eat heavy meals.
• After your lunch and dinner, have 2 spoons of honey. Honey is a digestive and carminative, and prevents stomach upsets.
• Small, light, frequent meals are the key.
• Never drink water along with the meal. Though soups and buttermilk can be had.
• And lastly, do not let fear and depression set in.
