Vomiting after Eating Cures | Nausea with Vomiting after Meals

Question: I’m having recurring nausea and vomiting about 10 minutes after a meal. I had about 5 attacks during last 2 years. In an attack, I get continuous vomiting for about 3days, during which only fluids are given. Condition completely subsides after 3 days, even with no drugs. Tests showed no elevation of serum CRP, serum amylase and barium enema was normal.
The condition arises after a meal, by having a discomfort feeling that the ingested food can’t pass. It remains like that for few days and then attack occurs.

What I will recommend to you is –

  • Have your diet restructured
  • Reorganize your schedule
  • Get a barium and an endoscopy 1 month after you’ve started the changes in the diet and routine.
  • Ensure that your meals are regular and at standard time-intervals.
  • Avoid eating out. If you must, then eat sensibly. Avoid canned foods, spicy, and pungent foods, aerated drinks. Opt for steamed fermented foods, brown bread sandwiches, salads, pastas, and fresh fruit juices.
  • Home-cooked soft diets are ideal.
  • Give your alimentary canal a break. Eat, easy-to-digest foods – gruels, porridges, soups, and salads. This will give your stomach some respite. If possible try to identify the trigger factor, some food irritant which is starting the bout of vomiting.
  • Do not take foods that are too hot or too cold.
  • Tobacco and alcohol are a complete no-no.
  • Drink plenty of water all day long.
  • A liberal helping of fruits and green leafy vegetables is a must.
  • Coconut water is the best food that you can offer your stomach. It induces alkalinity and is packed with all the vital nutrients. Coconut water settles the stomach,
  • Never lie down after a meal. It causes a reflux.
  • Never eat meals in a rush/ while reading/ watching T.V.
  • Stop drinking water along with the meal.
  • Milk is also an alkaline food, helping the stomach to settle.
  • Stress-induced disturbances have to be checked by checking the brutal effects of stress on you through yoga and meditation. The purpose of meditation is to let go of all excess activity in the mind and body.
  • Homoeopathy remedy pulsatilla 30, 5pills 3 times a day, will have beneficial results. It’ll tone up the entire alimentary canal and prevent recurrences.
