Signs and Symptoms of Diabetes

Question: My husband is feeling burning sensation whenever he starts urination.  He has suddenly dropped his weight, he frequently slept and sometimes he feels shortness of breath, usually in the morning when he wakes up, he feel intense thirsty. What possibly his disease? Can it be diabetes? How to diagnose it?

Diagnosis of Diabetes

• How much weight loss has there been? And over a period of how many months?
• Along with increase in thirst, has there been an increase in your appetite?
• Has the frequency of urination increased? Especially at night?
• Do you feel tired and breathless?
• Is there a family history of diabetes?
• It would be helpful, if you could get your blood sugar tested.
• Blood sugar – fasting and blood sugar – 3 hours after lunch
