I’ve been a diabetic for 10 years now; I would like to know if it is safe to use Brewer’s yeast along with my insulin, I also use apple cider vinegar and black strap molasses. Can I use these to help with my insulin?

Research has shown that Brewer’s Yeast helps decrease fasting blood sugar and post meal blood sugar levels appreciably. Importantly, it also helps reduce the dependency on drugs. Along side, Brewer’s Yeast also, helps keep the serum cholesterol level in check (diabetics are at a greater risk of developing cardiovascular disorders).

So, yes, you can consume Brewer’s Yeast. Only make sure that you buy quality yeast from a reputed brand. Also, some people are allergic to Brewer’s Yeast, so begin with small doses, and gradually increase the amount.

I would not recommend Black Strap Molasses though. Molasses is the dark syrupy liquid that comes from the processing of sugar. It is not the refined form. Since, black strap molasses is minimally processed, it is rich in nutrients, especially, iron, calcium, and vitamin B6. But, it provides loads of calories, ( 5 spoons of black strap molasses supplies 235 calories) since it is a very concentrated form of sucrose.
