Swine Flu Alert Level | Swine Flu Epidemic and Pandemic Preparedness
Whenever there is a disease outbreak, the first thing that many would like to know is the infestation or the alert level of the outbreak. This is important because it helps them in monitoring the impact that the disease has on population and so that efforts aimed at controlling the outbreak will be properly directed. In the case of the swine flu outbreak early this year, the swine flu alert level reached certain heights that many could not imagine what they will do in order to save themselves from the virus.
Swine Flu Alert Level
Based on its reports the WHO swine flu alert level in most countries affected by the virus reached the community outbreak level. This means that in most nations, areas or localities that has even just a single case of swine flu is at risk from a community outbreak that will not spare anyone.
Endemic and Pandemic Preparedness
When the swine flu alert level reached the community outbreak stage, most people wondered: Is a pandemic next? While it is debatable what exactly constitutes a pandemic, it is undeniable that countries and health authorities are helpless in trying to confine the virus to one border.
Although the declaration of pandemic as the swine flu alert level was raised was first met with some hesitation, it bonded people together to a common cause so their lives will be safe. In the end, what it proved is that when there is unity, concerted efforts are always bound to succeed.
