German Measles Symptoms | Treatments for German Measles Disease

German Measles Information:

German measles is a viral disease that is highly infectious. Incubation period varies between fourteen and twenty one day’s. It usually starts with a slight cold, a runny nose and swollen neck and throat. A pale red rash appears after approximately two days (similar to measles) but it however does not merge together. It usually starts from behind the ears and progresses slowly down to the legs. Temperature rarely rises above 100.5 degree Fahrenheit.

As the rash begins to subside, danger of infection to others is over.

Treatment for German measles is usually unnecessary because it usually causes very little discomfort. But seek medical attention in case of head, ear, throat and joint pain.

Attention: In a pregnant woman German measles during the first three months can cause severe complications for her unborn child. Therefore children who have contracted German measles or could have been infected must be confined to home.

In this manner the virus can be controlled from spreading.
