What causes headaches in children?
Headache is linked with many different illnesses. In children headaches are often linked to fever. So most colds and sore throats are accompanied by a headache. Children can also suffer from migraine (very painful headache).
What about Sinus Headache in children?
Headache which is felt in the face above and below the eyes can be sinusitis. Sinuses are hollow parts of the skull. As they connect with the nasal passages, they may also be affected when we have a cold.
What are the Symptoms of Headache in Children?
- The sinuses fill with mucus which can get infected.
- Feeling of nose being blocked, facial pain, yellow or green nasal discharge and fever.
- Pain worsens on movement of the head and face may feel heavy.
- Tone of the voice may change.
How to cure Childrens’ Headache?
- Give recommended dosage of Paracetamol to the child.
- Call the doctor for advice if headache has not settled with Paracetamol or the headache seems severe.
- If the headache is mild, which responds to Paracetamol but keeps recurring then consult a doctor.
- Sinusitis will clear on its own. But antibiotics can speed up healing process.
