Swelling around the upper arm where the shot is taken. Usually there are no any symptoms. You may feel horrible just because your body is not use to the shot. You should go back to normal within days.
Any other suggestions for preventing and curing diphtheria?

Diphtheria is a condition which is caused due to Corynebacterium diphtheriae. Immunization is the only way to ensure prevention against the infection of this bacterium. Immunization results in the development of certain antibodies, which make the person immune to the bacteria and prevents subsequent infections. Intramuscular injections are associated with minor swelling and redness at the site of injection and this can be managed,
    • Make sure that there is minimal movement while taking the shot. This will reduces the chances of subsequent pain at the site
    • Massage the muscle/injection site well after your injection. This will allow the injected fluid to spread, and cause less trauma to one particular part of the muscle
    • Cold fomentation after the injection will reduce the pain considerably
In any case the pain will reduce in intensity and will go away after a few days.

    Homoeopathy management
Take homoeopathy remedy diptherinum, daily, 5 times a day. Lower potencies are recommended. Diptherinum cures a sore throat, posterior nasal discharge, and difficult respiration rapidly.
