One can prepare poultices for external application.

  1. Take one part of lobelia and cayenne, two parts of mullein leaves and three parts of slippery elm bark. Mix it well. Add two teaspoon of it to little boiling water and make it into paste. Take thin cloth and spread the paste on it. It should be applied over the affected joint.
  2. Same can be done with taking one part of lobelia, two parts of cayenne and four parts of ginger roots. This aids circulation in the joint.
