- If the sore knees are the result of any injury, cold compresses will be beneficial to alleviate the symptoms.You can apply cold compresses two to three times in a day.
- Knee braces can be useful, more commonly used by athletes to give extra support to the knee joint.
- If you are elderly person and the cause is due to osteoarthritis, physiotherapy exercise will be useful to control the soreness and stiffness in along run. Do the physiotherapy exercise under the guidance of a trained physiotherapist
- Short wave diathermy is also useful in person suffering from osteoarthritis or osteoporosis of the knee joint.
- Eat calcium rich food in case of osteoarthritis as there is low calcium level in this patients. Milk is one of the rich sources of calcium. Drink 1 glass of milk twice in a day.
- Vitamin D is also beneficial in osteoporosis; sunlight is good source of manufacturing vitamin D in our body.
- Apply a paste made up of wheat, castor and turmeric mixed in goat’s milk on the affected area.
Investigations advised are X-ray of knee joints.
