Rotated Pelvis: Exercises And Treatment For Rotated Pelvis Correction

Rotated Pelvis Treatment

Under normal situation, the spine is erect over the sacrum (the central part of the pelvis). However, the pelvis may rotate anteriorly, which also forces the rest of the spine to follow the suit. This forward tilting of the spine is compensated by backward tilting of the lower spine, to compensate to the deviation. This results in an abnormal position of the spine which is referred to scoliosis or lordiosis.

Rotated pelvis results in hip and groin pain. There are some simple exercises which can help relieve the pain considerably.

Rotated Pelvis Exercises

A rotated pelvis is caused due to abnormal lifting and carrying of weights due to repetitive movements. When the pelvis rotates the piriformis muscle goes into protective spasm, which prevents the joint to function effectively.

The primary protocol of treatment is to bring the piriformis muscle back into its normal shape and enhance the strength of this muscle.

Single leg stretch is the commonly used exercise. Lie on your back with your legs straightened out. Now gradually move one leg towards your abdomen and move your head upwards, so that you touch the knee with your forehead.

Use your hands to pull your leg towards your abdomen. Repeat this exercise with the other leg. Ensure that you exhale and inhale correctly during the exercise. Try a set of three leg stretches to begin with and then gradually increase the frequency.

I went scuba diving on Dec 5th, and woke up next day with horrible headache. After the 1st day pain it just got worse and after 2 weeks, most of my body hurt. When I went to the doctor they would not recognize it as Decompression sickness. So I was never treated and after 4 doctors, I went naturopathic. Which has been slow going, but I am improving. I go in weekly for massages and they work out numerous trigger spots on my upper back, legs, neck. I has been in so much pain and that is because my pelvis has been out. Each week they do a hip release and correct, but every week it slip back to being out. I will try the exercise you have suggested.
