Neck pain is fairly common most especially in older people. It is highly uncommon to occur in the adolescent group; however, it still happens to a few of them. When an individual suffers from acute/chronic neck pain, it would usually be extremely painful and it prohibits you from performing any work and it would hinder your daily living activities, which would be something you cannot let by.
What Causes Neck Pain
It would be best to know what causes these circumstances to happen so that people will be able to understand and grasp the idea on how to prevent neck pain from happening to them in the future.
- When you are in a prolonged position wherein the neck muscles are stretched for quite a period of time. For example, when you are sleeping. Your neck muscles must have been hyper-extended yet you did not know because you were asleep. The next thing you know when you wake up you cannot move it about because of the pain.
- When there is a sign of a heart attack. One of the cardinal signs of any heart condition would be the radiating burning pain that usually runs from the chest to the neck and to the arms and shoulders in the left part.If you do experience any of this and you have an existing heart condition, it is best that you seek medical help as soon as possible.
- Straining the muscle on hand. It is usually caused by poor lactose in the muscle area of a person. Lactose and potassium would be the main culprit for this. Straining the neck muscle not could happen when, for example, you carried something and instead of using the right and proper body mechanics, you failed to do so, hence, the neck pain.
How to Treat Neck Pains
The best way to cure neck pain is to allow the area to relax. Usually a massage would be painful at first, but if you massage the area inĀ a gentle manner, it would usually help alleviate and help relax neck area.
You may also apply hot and cold compress in the area as it can help relax and improve the blood circulation in the affected part. The hot temperature would cause the vessels to dilate, allowing the blood to rush in and the cold compression to constrict to allow the blood to stay in the area and so forth.
How to Prevent Neck Pains:
- Observe a good proper diet. Intake of food rich in vitamin and minerals such as banana, which is known for its very high content of potassium, should be increased.
- Have a daily regular routine exercise.
