While I was doing my shoulder exercise in the gym, I got some neck sprain. Immediately I stopped the work out. Now I am having some sprain in the neck. I am unable to rotate my head freely. Please provide me some home remedies. This is the first day of my sprain.

Neck sprain or kinked neck is common phenomenon while doing exercise, such as lifting weight, and other exercises. It can result into stretched neck muscles, injury to the vertebra of the neck . Neck sprain is also common due to faulty sleeping posture for a long time.
Neck Pain Treatment
If your symptoms become more severe, get an X-ray cervical spine to rule out injury to the neck vertebra.
Some home remedies for neck pain are:
- Apply ice cold pack on the inflamed and painful area of the neck. Do this procedure at least three times in a day.
- Massage your neck with comfrey oil; it acts well in kinked neck.
- Take water in a cup and mix it with thyme oil, it improves the sprained neck condition quickly.
- Give rest to your neck for few days when your symptoms are acute.
- Apply ointment containing capsaisin.
Get an orthopedic opinion, if you are not better after a week, with the above suggested ways.
