Answer: Peri-arthritis is a chronic inflammatory disease of the shoulder joint. The cause of the disease is not known but diabetics are more prone to this condition. Trauma or exposure to severe cold may also result in painful shoulder joint. Tubercular effusion in shoulder joint can result in pain and restricted movement of the shoulder.
It is also called frozen shoulder; the movements are restricted due to mild or severe pain and some times due to adhesion’s.

- Pain and stiffness is the most common symptom found in people suffering from frozen shoulder.
- Slow development of stiffness and shoulder pain, which increases sharply with movement, can become severe enough to bother your sleep and limit the shoulder movements.
- The shoulder movement gets restricted due to pain and possibly due to adhesion’s in the tissue of the shoulder joint, this makes the person physically miserable in performing daily activities.
