Answer: Pain in the buttocks can be excruciating and agonizing in nature, it can be due to many causes, it can be sore feeling to tingling in the gluteal region.
Buttock Pain Causes
- Trauma in the muscles and ligaments of the buttocks.
- Compression of nerve (sciatic nerve) sciatica.
- Anal causes: fissure in anal region, hemorrhoid.
- Arthritis of hip joint
- Infection in the gluteus region and the fat tissue of the buttocks.
- Injection abscess.
- Tumor of pelvis.
- Pregnancy.
- Fracture of pelvis and iliac bone.
- Herpes zoster.
- Bursitis.
Symptoms Of Buttock Pain
- Improper gait.(sciatica.)
- Difficulty in sitting
- Wasting of muscles.
- Aggravation on touch in cases of herpes zoster.
- Soreness, redness, and pain in case of boil or abscess.
Buttock Pain Exercise
- Buttock pain exercise is useful when the muscle of that region is stretched. Lift your leg at 45degree for few minutes while lying down, then relax and keep down the leg.
- Now do the same with other leg.
- Lie on the abdomen, keep your legs straight, now lift the leg at 45 degree and keep them for few minutes in that position. After some time relax. Do this for five times.
- Hot water fomentation also helps to relieve the buttock pain due to muscular catch.
