Is it normal for this to still be hurting so bad. And yes I am overweight and will begin work on that immediately. I started exercises from the website last night and hopefully that will help too. Thanks

I forgot to say that the surgery was in December and 4 months later its really painful. Is it normal for this to still be hurting so bad. Try to reduce your weight, if you are obese; some times there may be associated plantar fasciitis. The main aim is to reduce the load or strain on the plantar fascia of the foot. Physiotherapist can help this by using ultrasound, it helps to stimulate the muscles. Increase the blood flow by cold and hot application of water. Arch supports, firm heel pads, and specially designed shoes as advised by the doctor are helpful. Physiotherapist may suggest special exercise to stretch the Achilles tendon, which relaxes the plantar fascia. You can do swimming or other sports where there is less strain to the foot. Avoid jogging, running exercise. These few conservative tips may be helpful.

As you have undergone recent surgery for the heel spur, wait for some time the pain get may get better. Spurs were found on the heel and behind the Achilles tendon. Things were fine for a while but the pain is surfacing again. X-rays show no more spurs. The pain is getting worse and worse. Do you have any suggestions? Dr says he may have to kill the nerve connected to the pain area. Is that a normal thing to do?

I have recently had bone spur surgery on my left foot. Spurs were found on the heel and behind the Achilles tendon.
