What is Varicose Veins
Varicose Veins is the malfunction of the tiny valves that regulate blood circulation in the legs. It typically appears on the back of the calf or anywhere along the length of the inside part of the leg.
Sensitive and prominent veins can cause aching, scaling and fatigue and in severe cases ankles swell, calves itch and legs pain.

- Tired, aching and heavy feeling in the legs; occasional pain that may vary.

- Strain in the abdominal region due to pregnancy
- Constipation and heavy lifting

- Wear support stockings to support your legs. They are to be worn in the morning before your feet touches the floor and should be taken off before going to bed.
- To improve blood circulation, keep your legs higher than your heart.
How to Prevent Varicose Veins
- Continuous standing or sitting should be avoided. Perform simple heel exercise by standing flat-footed on the floor, then rise up onto the balls of your feet, stand in that position momentarily and then go back to the floor. Repeat this exercise 10-20 times.
- Tight clothing and shoes should be avoided.
- Walk regularly to prevent blood pooling in the legs.
- Maintain healthy weight, to prevent new varicose veins from appearing.
- Avoid crossing legs as it puts pressure on leg veins.
