What is Gonorrhea?
Gonorrhea is a contagious bacterial infection. In women, the cervix (opening of the uterus) is usually infected, which becomes inflamed and is tender to touch. In few people the infection travels to the fallopian tubes. In men however urethra is infected first.
Symptoms of Gonorrhea
- Urination becomes painful.
- Vaginal or penile discharge maybe greenish yellow.
- If contracted through anal sex, rectal pain or discharge.
- If contracted through oral sex one may suffer a sore throat.
Causes of Gonorrhea
- It is caused by a bacterium contracted by sexual contact (anal, oral or vaginal).
- An infected pregnant mother may infect her baby with gonorrhea during child birth and if not treated promptly the infant may go blind.
Home remedies for Gonorrhea
- There are no known home remedies for this disease. But read on for preventive measures.
Preventing Gonorrhea
- Before and after sexual contact, wash your genitals properly.
- Get tested routinely if you have multiple sex partners and if you have repeated episodes of gonorrhea.
- Before you become intimate, know your sex partner’s health status well.
- It can be effectively prevented, by using latex condoms.
- Contact your physician if you notice any symptoms of Gonorrhea.

Kinda depends if you are a male or female. For Males, the usual symptoms are burning sensation while urinating, and an oozing liquid from the tip of the penis. There may also be a bit of an aching sensation in the testicles.
Female symptoms are often less noticeabe, but also some burning when urinating, but not always.
