Feldenkraise Method is a system designed to promote physical and mental efficiency and well being. Exercise increases ease and range of motion and improves flexibility and co-ordination.

Uses of Feldenkraise Method

  • It is a supportive therapy, where improved movement pattern helps to recover from illness or injury.
  • It is found useful for chronic pain like joint disorders; back, shoulder and neck pain; headache and temporomandibular joint disorder.
  • People suffering from neuromuscular disorder such as stroke, cerebral palsy and multiple sclerosis find solace in it.

 
Procedure of Treatment of Feldenkraise Method

  • There are 2 components, you can use either or both of them as per your needs. The first called functional integration uses touch to sense and improve movement patterns. The practitioner may gently manipulate muscles and joints when you sit, stand or lie.
  • The second called awareness through movement focuses on slow non-aerobic movement and specific motions from everyday life such as standing and sitting.

Treatment Time – Sessions of both the components may last from 45 minutes to 1 hour.

Treatment FrequencyBoth the components require a 4-6 series session, meeting once a week.
