Anal soreness is the irritation of the anus and its surrounding area coupled with itchiness and discomfort.

Causes Of Anal Soreness

The anal soreness causes include the following:

  • Unhygienic bowel movement practices
  • Hemorrhoids
  • Chemicals found in food such as spices
  • Irritation due to frequent defecation especially when having diarrhea
  • Yeast infections
  • Serious health diseases such as diabetes and HIV
  • Pinworm
  • Psoriasis
  • Fissures in the anal skin
  • Anal skin tags
  • Abnormal growth of skin in the anal area

Treatment For Anal Soreness

  • Observe proper hygiene especially after releasing your bowel. Make sure that your anus is dry and clean enough before leaving the toilet.
  • To ease the burning sensation, apply petroleum jelly or aloe vera gel on your anus.
    Although this is not a permanent treatment for anal soreness, this method can effectively pacify the soreness of the anus.
  • If you are having a sore anus, use damp toilet paper when cleaning your anus after bowel.
  • Avoid using scented soap as this could further irritate the skin especially if it is sensitive.

Remedies For Anal Soreness

  • Use talcum or baby powder to dry your anus. A wet anus can lead to irritation.
  • Live a happy life and avoid stress to prevent anal itching.
  • While experiencing anal soreness, do not drink soft drinks or sodas, alcoholic beverages, and take food that have high content in vitamin C including those that are spicy.
